The News About Lego Turning 50

50 years ago Legos was introduced to the world. A lot of toys have come and since then, but Legos has not only endured, but has also become a part of American culture. Legos are used by both kids and adults alike. They have been used in video games, as art and even in architecture.

These simply little blocks that you can turn in just about anything you can imagine are probably the most respected toy around. To show their respect and love for Legos, Google has temporarily changed their logo to a logo built of Legos.

I want to say Happy Anniversary Lego and keep building on.

That’s the news about that. I hope the news about you is good news.

The News About Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick And Christine Beatty

Well, it seems that Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick and his chief of staff, Christine Beatty, lied while under oath in a trial about their alleged affair. The case involved a lawsuit by two police officers, which charged threatened to expose unlawful or unethical conduct by the mayor, including his affair with Christine Beatty.

Kilpatrick and Beatty were both asked directly whether they were romantically involved and they both denied that they were. But now text messages have surfaced that prove that the two did have a romantic involvement.

"I'm madly in love with you," the mayor wrote in one of his text messages. Beatty answered that message with, "I hope you feel that way for a long time”.

The Mayor now admits that the affair happened, but that it was 4 or 5 years ago, which is how the t text messages are he also said "My wife and I worked our way through these intensely personal issues years ago. I would now ask that the public and the media respect the privacy of my wife and children and of Christine Beatty and her children at this deeply painful moment for our families."

The real shame is the affect this will have on the families, Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick’s wife and sons and Christine Beatty kids.

That’s the news about that. I hope the news about you is good news.

The News About Heath Ledger’s Death

Heath Ledger, the actor who got critical acclaim and an Academy Award nomination for his role as gay cowboy in the movie "Brokeback Mountain", was found dead yesterday in a New York apartment.

Heath got his start in teen movies like "10 Things I Hate About You" and got his first big acting break when he played Mel Gibson’s son in "The Patriot". From that he got a staring role in the movie "A Knight's Tale". Heath will play the Joker in the upcoming Batman movie, "The Dark Knight". This will be his last film.

For all of his accomplishments in his short time in the film industry, Heath Ledger never took acting classes. He had a very promising career ahead of him and probably would have been one of the best.

Heath was found lying face down on the floor some sleeping pills lying near him. An autopsy came back inconclusive. The medical examiner said more tests are needed. However the police had thought that Heath’s death might have been do to an accidental drug overdose.

Heath Ledger was only 28 years old.

The News About Lindsey Lohan Seeing Dead People

Like the kid in “The Sixth Sense”, Lindsey Lohan will be seeing dead people, except these dead people won’t be ghosts the will be real dead people.

As part of her punishment for misdemeanor drunken driving, Lindsey will be working at a morgue. She will work at the morgue for two days for four hours each. This is part of a court-ordered program to show drivers the consequences of drinking and driving. Also as part of the program, Lindsey spent two days working in a hospital emergency room.

Lindsey has already spent two months in rehabilitation and has done some community service as part of her plea deal.

Lindsey Lohan is part of those young Hollywood celebs that always seems to find themselves in trouble, which I for one do not understand. If you’re doing want you love doing, why not just sit back and enjoy it.

Well, that’s the news about that. I hope the news about you is good news.

The News About The Rolling Stones Sound Track And Film

Well, the grandfathers of rock, the Rolling Stones, have signed a deal to release the sound track of their new concert movie through Universal Music Group. The movie was directed by Martin Scorsese and will be released by Universal Pictures. The name of the movie and sound track is "Shine a Light".

"Shine a Light" was filmed during a Rolling Stones performance at New York's Beacon Theatre in autumn 2006. The sound track for Universal Music is a one-album deal and will have no affect on the Stones relationship with EMI where they recorded for 16 years.

The Rolling Stones have been around for what seems like forever and they are still going strong even though they are nearing 60 years of age. You will get to see some rarely seen archival footage of the Stones in the "Shine a Light" film. The film will also include appearances by Buddy Guy, the White Stripes' Jack White and Christina Aguilera.

That’s the news about that. I hope the news about you is good news.

The News About David Spade, Father To Be

Think David Spade is just a smart iliac nerd? Well think again. It is reported that David Spade may be the father to the unborn child of his ex-girlfriend, and get this, Playboy playmate, Jillian Grace.

Apparently David dated Jillian for a short time in 2007. How is that for a supposedly nerdy guy? But in all fairness to David, this is not the first hotty he has dated. He also dated Heather Locklear for a while.

David said, that if he is the father of Jillian’s child, that he will accept his responsibility. Also if it’s true that David Spade is the father, this will be his first child.

That’s the news about that. I hope the news about you is good news.

The News About The Stephenville UFO

It looks UFO sightings is making a brief comeback. Dozens of people in Stephenville, Texas reported seeing a UFO. The people who reported seeing the UFO said it was a large silent object with bright lights flying low and fast. Among the people who reported seeing the UFO were a pilot, a teacher, county constable and business owners.

Steve Allen, a freight company owner and pilot said that the object he saw was about a mile long and half as mile wide. County Constable Lee Roy Gaitan said that he first saw red glowing lights and then white flashing lights moving fast and that even with binoculars he couldn’t see the object the lights were attached to. He also said that what he saw wasn’t an airplane and that he never seen anything like it.

Of course you know that this sighting has brought out the UFO fanatics who plan to descend on Stephenville for a possible chance to see this thing themselves. There were no photos taken of this thing as usual. I for one do believe that UFOs exists, but I would like to for once see some concrete evidence.

That’s the news about that. I hope the news about you is good news.

The News About T.O. Crying

“There’s no crying, there’s no crying in baseball”. Well, I guess there is crying in football because Terrell Owens did some in a press interview after the Dallas Cowboys loss to the New York Giants. But really, did T.O. actually cry or was it an almost cry like Hilary. Lets see the play back.

I didn’t see any tears, it looks like a Hilary Clinton to me. What do you think?

That’s the news about that. I hope the news about you is good news.

The News About The Writer’s Strike

If you’re a big TV fan I know you were probably wishing the Hollywood writer’s would have ended by now, but it hasn’t and because of that a lot of our favorite shows will remain in re-runs or may be delayed in coming back on air.

The strike has already caused the cancellation of the Golden Globe awards and may also cause the Oscars to be canceled. Among the shows that will be delayed coming back are some of my favorites, “Heroes”, “The Office”, and “Two and a Half Men”.

But TV shows and movies aren’t the only businesses affected by the writer’s strike. Caterers, Florists, Limousine services and other businesses that make from the entertainment business are being hit hard by the strike also.

I for one am wishing for a speedy resolution to the writer’s strike. I have to know what Sylar, on “Heroes” is going to do now that he has his powers back.

That’s the news about that. I hope the news about you is good news.

The News About The Nano

At the 9th annual Auto Expo car maker Ratan Tata unveiled was is touted as the people’s car, the Nano. At a US price of $2500it is also the cheapest car in the world. Features of the Nano include, a four-door car that can seat four to five passengers, it is eight per cent smaller on the outside but has 21 per cent more leg space on the inside than the Maruti 800, it conforms to all the Emission standards as well as the Offset and Side Crash norms followed internationally and it will have two variants - a Standard as well as a Deluxe (Air Conditioned) versions. However the Nano does not have power steering.

Even without power steering this car is something worth having. This little car from India will probably change the way all car companies manufacture their cars. At its more than affordable price I expect to see a lot of Nanos around.

That’s the news about that. I hope the news about you is good news.

The News About The New Hampshire Primary

Well, the results of the New Hampshire Primary are in and Hilary Clinton pulled a surprise upset over Barak Obama. McCain was able to pull out a win from the Republican Primary. But no matter how you look at the primaries the big news is going to be from the Democrats between Obama and Hilary Clinton. Never before in history has been a black candidate and a woman candidate running at the same time and that is one for the history books.

What is even bigger news is the fact that they are both front-runners for the office of President for their party. If either one wins their party nomination and then goes on to win the Presidency, it will be a history making event and it will truly mark a change in the way America thinks about race and gender.

The next primary is Michigan on the 15th of this month.

That’s the news about that. I hope the news about you is good news.

The News About Jana Shearer Murder

Jana Shearer was almost six feet tall, blond with green eyes and had a bounce in her walk that would turn men’s heads. Her friend and neighbor Jennifer Landfair describes her looking like a skinny Barbie, except with a goofy little grin. Jana was said to never leave her house without her makeup bag, so Landfair knew something was wrong when Jana wasn’t home, but her makeup bag was.

Landfair’s suspicions proved correct when police found Jana’s body inside a brick home on Princess Place. Parts of her flesh were carved out and an ear was found on the stove boiling in a pot of water.
Friends say they were supposed to have a “girls’ night,” but Jana’s boyfriend Christopher Lee McCuin was at the apartment waiting for her to get home from shopping. One of the friends, Amy Gage said McCuin talked to them while waiting for Jana and he seemed very nice.

When Jana did get home, friends watched as the couple went into Jana’s apartment arguing.

The next morning Jennifer Landfair was at Jana’s apartment when the phone rang. It was McCuin, who kept saying to Jana’s mother that he killed her daughter.
Jana’s mother handed the phone to Landfair who said McCuin had no remorse in his voice as he told her that Jana was dead and that he had killed her.

The details of this story gets more and grisly with the fact that McCuin may have stabbed his estranged wife’s boyfriend after killing Jana and that he may have eaten or tried to eat parts of Jana’s body. McCuin even proudly showed his mother and her boy friend what he had done to Jana saying, “Come look what I did”. The couple ran from the home and flagged down a police officer.

This is a brutal and tragic story. It makes you wonder what happens to a person to make them do something like this. It also makes you wonder who around you is capable of doing something like this to you or someone you know. I mean Amy Gage said that Friday McCuin was hugging and playing with kids.

I want to express my sorrow for Jana Shearer’s death to her friends and family and wish them the best.

That’s the news about that. I hope the news about you is good news.

The News About Obama And Huckabee

The news was great in Iowa for Barack Obama and Mike Huckabee yesterday as they both won their caucuses. The reason the win was great is because they both won out over the front-runners of their respective parties. A big factor in the Huckabee win might have been that more than half of the Republicans said they were either born-again or evangelical Christians. The fact that Huckabee was a former preacher turn politician may have been a big help in winning this caucus.

Obama’s victory gives his campaign more hope as he beat out the Democratic front-runner Hilary Clinton. Obama spoke a lot about hope in his victory speech and the change in how the American people are thinking. “We are one nation, we are one people and our time for change has come." is one of the statements Obama made in his victory speech.

This was a critical first test in the run for the office of President it also narrowed the field of Democrats running for the office as Senators Joe Biden and Christopher Dodd dropped out shortly after the outcome was clear.

That’s the news about that. I hope the news about you is good news.

The News About The Iowa Caucus

Well, today is the day that the Democratic and Republican Presidential candidates pounce on Iowa to hold their caucuses. Each group trying to persuade Iowans to pick someone from their party to be the one candidate to run for President against the other party’s chosen candidate. All but one of the candidates was in Iowa campaigning yesterday. Mike Huckabee choose to go on Jay Leno’s Tonight Show and play bass guitar and trade jokes with Leno.

The difference between a caucus and a primary election is that in a primary, voters secretly fill out ballots and leave. In the caucuses, they are required to come and stay for several hours, and there are no secret ballots. In the presence of friends, neighbors and occasionally strangers, caucus members vote with their feet, by raising their hands and moving to different parts of the room to show their support for one candidate or another.

It will be interesting to see which candidates form each party gets the nod from Iowans tonight and then it’s on to the Wyoming caucus.

That’s the news today. I hope the news about you is good news.

The News About Jennifer Siebel And Mayor Gavin Newsom

Once again I want to welcome you to my new blog. Today I am officially kicking this blog off. I want to start with Actress Jennifer Siebel who has a recurring role on one of my favorite shows, the new hit NBC show “Life”. In the show she plays the ex-wife of Detective Charlie Crews who spent 12 years in prison for a crime he didn’t commit.

It seems that this weekend Miss Siebel got engaged to San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom. Newsom reportedly popped the question Saturday in Hawaii. This will be Newsom’s second marriage and Siebel’s first.

Jennifer Siebel isn’t one of Hollywood’s hottest stars. In my opinion she is only moderately good looking. She has appeared in shows like “Numb3ers”, “Strong Medicine” and “Cracking Up” and films like “Rent”, “April Fool’s Day” and Zen Noir”. She will be in a new film that is now in post-production called “Till You Get To Baraboo”.

With her recurring role on “Life” and her engagement to Mayor Newsom, Jennifer Siebel is getting more attention, which just might lead to bigger and better roles. It’ll be interesting to see what happens next with Her.

That’s what the news is about today. I hope the news about you is good news.
