The News About Anthony Anderson Replacing Jesse L. Martin On Law And Order

K-Ville, the Fox TV drama starring Anthony Anderson as a tough New Orleans cop is ending it’s one season run despite its good ratings. Jesse L. Martin is leaving the hit NBC show Law and Order ending his nine-year run on the show. What does these two events have to do with each other? Well, Anthony Anderson is finalizing negotiations to replace Martin.

Anderson will not take over the Jesse L. Martin character, Ed Green, but will play a whole new detective. Martin was signed to do 13 more episodes of Law and Order, but the writer’s strike forced a change in those plans. He will instead shoot one more episode in which he will be written out of the show.

Martin will be staring in a movie about Marvin Gaye Titled “Sexual Healing”. The movie is set to start shooting in April or May.

Anthony Anderson, who has recently taken a departure from his comedic sidekick roles in movies, has been playing more serious roles in shows Like K-Ville, The Shield, and Law and Order SVU. It’ll be interesting see what kind of character he gets in Law and Order.

The News About The Gene Simmons Sex Tape

I’m not a Kiss fan, but I am a big Gene Simmons fan. I started like Gene Simmons when he started playing bad guys in movies back in the 80s. He made a great bad guy with that look of his.

Well, apparently Gene is in a different kind of movie now. A sex tape has surfaced of Gene Simmons having sex with a sexy young Austrian model, named Elsa. Elsa is one of the Frank's Energy Drink girls and Gene Simmons is their spokesman. However I don’t think having sex with one of their models was part of the deal Frank's Energy Drink had with Gene.

It makes you wonder how this is going to affect Gene’s relationship Shannon Tweed who he has been dating for over 20 years. The couple even has two children, Nicholas, 19, and Sophie, 15. I’m sure Gene will emerge from this unskaved, he’s a rock star after and isn’t this the kind of thing that rock stars are expected to do.

If you watched “The Celebrity Apprentice”, or Gene Simmons’ reality show you got a taste of Gene’s personality. I hated to see him get fired from “The Celebrity Apprentice”, but it was Gene Simmons being Gene Simmons. Much like the sex tape.

The News About Castro’s Resignation

Fidel Castro, who ruled Cuba as it’s President for almost 50 years, announced Tuesday that he will not aspire to nor accept the post of President of the Council of State and Commander in Chief of Cuba.

The 81-year-old Cuban ruler has seen 10 U.S. Presidents come and go all of which have tried and failed to end his rule. The Bay of Pigs invasion in 1961 under President Kennedy was the most famous and most ambiguous. It brought us to the brink of a nuclear war.

Fidel Castro’s brother, Raul who is 76 years old is expected to succeed him as President of Cuba. The U.S. had hoped to see a transition of Cuba from a communist country to a democratic one, but it doesn’t look like that will happen.

The News About The Beef Recall

The U.S. Department of Agriculture ordered the largest beef recall ever in the United States Sunday. They recalled 143 million pounds, which is 65,000 tons of beef. That’s a lot of hamburgers.

The USDA says this is a "Class 2 recall, which means there is a low risk of getting sick from the meat. The recall was due to the plant violating rules that prohibit the slaughter of "downer" cattle, which are cattle that are unable to walk.

The recall will affect beef products dating to February 1, 2006, that came from Westland/Hallmark Meat Co., which is based in Chino, California. They supply meat to the federal school lunch program and to some major fast-food chains.

Operations were suspended at Westland/Hallmark after a video was undercover showing workers abusing "downer" animals that were apparently too sick or injured to walk into the slaughterhouse.

I like beef products and hope that this isn’t going to hurt my beef consumption. One more thing, isn’t slaughtering the animals period kind of abusing them?

The News About Jane Fonda Using The “C” Word

Apparently NBC had to make apologies after Jane Fonda’s appearance on the Today Show where she said the “C” word. In a discussion with the playwright Eve Ensler about her play “The Vagina Monologues”, Jane Fonda told how she was asked to do a monologue called “Cunt”. Jane just kept talking as if she had said nothing wrong and you know what? I don’t think she did. Since the “Today Show “ is live they were unable to bleep the word when it aired on the East Coast, it was muted in other time zones but

All the stories I have seen on this have not even used the word, they just say the “C” word. Well, I just used it and I’m not going to apologize for it. Give me a break. There are much worse words said on TV everyday. Every one is so focused on the word Cunt, but what about the word Vagina? Okay, Vagina is a clinical term, but wouldn’t some people be offended by that?

The News About Yoko Ono Suing Lennon

Yoko Ono is suing a little-known singer-songwriter named Lennon Murphy for naming her band “Lennon”. Murphy was named after John Lennon and Lennon Murphy is her legal, childbirth name.

Murphy claims that in the year 2000 she asked Yoko about using the name Lennon on the bands debut CD on the Arista Records label and said Yoko and her lawyer had no problem with it. Although Arista later dropped “Lennon” due to poor record sales, the band still performs and records independently.

The lawsuit comes just two days before the statute of limitations ran out to file the complaint. The suit cites that there is a likelihood of confusion in the marketplace and would cause a dilution of John Lennon’s surname.

The two questions I have are, doesn’t this girl have a right to her own name and what is Yoko’s real purpose for bringing this lawsuit eight years after being asked permission to us the Lennon name? I mean Lennon Murphy should be able to use her name as she pleases and I think Yoko is using this to once again get into the public eye. I mean come on how much harm can this band cause? Have you ever hard of the band “Lennon”?
