The News About Super Tuesday

Well, the biggest primary of the season has ended and although there was a decisive winner for the Republicans the Democratic race is still on the line. John McCain was the definite winner of the Republican race and this would usually mean he would get the Republican nomination, but the win wasn’t big enough for him to clinch the nomination.

On the Democratic side the race came down to Clinton and Obama as expected. Clinton won the states that had the most delegates, but Obama won the smaller and mid-sized states giving him 14 states to Clinton’s 8.

With no decisive nominee for either party on Super Tuesday, the biggest primary ever in the US, the candidates look ahead to next week’s primaries in Maryland and Virginia.

That’s the news about that. I hope the news about you is good news.

The News About The New Hampshire Primary

Well, the results of the New Hampshire Primary are in and Hilary Clinton pulled a surprise upset over Barak Obama. McCain was able to pull out a win from the Republican Primary. But no matter how you look at the primaries the big news is going to be from the Democrats between Obama and Hilary Clinton. Never before in history has been a black candidate and a woman candidate running at the same time and that is one for the history books.

What is even bigger news is the fact that they are both front-runners for the office of President for their party. If either one wins their party nomination and then goes on to win the Presidency, it will be a history making event and it will truly mark a change in the way America thinks about race and gender.

The next primary is Michigan on the 15th of this month.

That’s the news about that. I hope the news about you is good news.
