The News About WCW Wrestler, Chase Tatum, Found Dead
Chase Tatum a former WCW wrestler was found dead Sunday in his Buckhead home of an apparent overdose. His father, Roy Tatum said, "He was in the process of getting his life back together". Chase was recovering from back surgery 10 days earlier to repair a degenerative disc. According to his father Chase Tatum had been battling painkiller dependence for years and had made plans to enter a rehabilitation facility in Miami.
Chase began a career as a personal trainer, which he continued doing until his death. It was one of his clients who was a WCW personality who encouraged him to audition for the WCW. Chase was accepted on his first try, debuting in 1999 and quickly gained notice.
Chase Tatum retired after about two-and-a-half years of wrestling. The brief stint left him battling severe back problems and without health insurance to pay for the surgery. His father said the painkillers kept him going. Despite his dependence, Chase found success as an actor. He landed a substantial role in the low-budget comedy, "Who's Your Caddy?" in 2007 alongside costar rapper Big Boi of Outkast. He also worked as a road manager and personal assistant with Outkast. Chase had also just landed a major role in a movie that was to be filmed in New York.
I did a couple of post last year on one of my other blogs of wrestlers dying from steroid use. At least this isn’t that, but it does still have to do with drugs.
That’s the news about that. I hope the news about you is good news.

Yesterday police found human bones stuffed in a suitcase on Staten Island. DNA testing will begin today, but it is thought that the bones may be that of Amy Giordano who has been missing since June. Giordano's 11-month-old son was found abandoned in a hospital parking lot in Delaware two days after she disappeared.
The married man with whom Amy Giordano was having an affair with, one Rosario DiGirolamo was arrested and charged with murder last week along with John Russo who was charged with tampering with evidence. The News About Starbucks Ordered To Pay $100 Million In Back Tips
Yesterday Starbucks, the large over priced coffee chain, was ordered to pay it’s baristas more than $100 million in back tips and interest that they paid to shift supervisors. An injunction was also issued that prevents Starbucks' shift supervisors from sharing in future tips. California state law prohibits managers and supervisors from sharing in employee gratuities.
The lawsuit was filed in October 2004 by, a former Starbucks barista in La Jolla, who complained about shift supervisors were sharing in employee tips. In 2006 the lawsuit was granted class-action status, allowing it to go forward for as many as 100,000 former and current baristas of Starbucks California stores.
Starbucks is planning an immediate appeal of the ruling, saying it "fundamentally unfair and beyond all common sense and reason".
I’m happy for the employees. They are the ones out there doing the work and the tips are meant for them as an appreciation for their service.

The News About A Cold First Day Of Spring
Today is the first day of spring, but it’s hard to tell here in Ohio. There’s snow on the ground and it’s cold as hell. Seems like the seasons here are kind of mixed up. I don’t know if it’s because of the earth’s rotation or global warming or because the damn groundhog saw its shadow, I know I don’t like it.
I mean we had no snow for Christmas and very little in January and February and then March comes and right off we have a snowstorm. It’s supposed to start warming up in March. Another thing is it’ll warm up for a day making you think it’s going to be that from now on and then bam we’re hit with snow and cold.
Okay, just wanted to vent a little, I hate the cold. Today is also Maundy Thursday or Holy Thursday as it is better known so a happy Holy Thursday to all.
That’s the news about that. I hope the news about you is good news.

Seems a few celebrities have died within the last few of days and I wanted to take some time to mention a few of them.
Ivan Dixon, which some of depending on your age may remember as Sergeant James Kinchloe in the hit TV series Hogan’s Heroes. Dixon, died Sunday at the age 76 after a hemorrhage and complications from kidney failure. After Hogan’s Heroes Dixon did some other TV roles including a role in the CBS Playhouse special “The Final War of Olly Winter” for which he got an Emmy nomination for his performance. He become more known as a director, directing such shows as “The Waltons,” “The Rockford Files,” “Magnum, P.I.” and “In the Heat of the Night”.
Arthur C. Clarke, the well known science fiction writer who co-wrote "2001: A Space Odyssey", died today at age 90. Clarke is also credited with the concept of communications satellites in 1945, decades before they became a reality. Some of Clarke’s best-known books are "Childhood's End," 1953; "The City and The Stars," 1956; "The Nine Billion Names of God," 1967; "Rendezvous with Rama," 1973; "Imperial Earth," 1975; and "The Songs of Distant Earth," 1986. Arthur C. Clarke’s latest novel, "The Last Theorem," which was co-written with Frederik Pohl, is said to be coming later this year.
Vicki Van Meter, who made headlines for piloting a plane across the country at age 11 and from the U.S. to Europe at age 12,in the 1990s died Saturday at the tender age of 26. She died of an apparently self-inflicted gunshot wound. Her body was found in her Meadville home on Sunday. Her brother said she battled depression, but her family thought she had been dealing with her problems. In 1994, Vicki Van Meter flew from Augusta to Glasgow, Scotland, and was credited with being the youngest girl to make a trans-Atlantic flight.
I want to say good-bye to all three of these people that brought us joy and excitement and send condolences to their family and friends.
That’s the news about that. I hope the news about you is good news.

The News About Barack Obama And His Pastor
Barack Obama is trying to distance himself from statements that his long time pastor, Rev. Jeremiah Wright has been reported making that to many think sounded racist. Wright who was the pastor of Trinity United Church of Christ in Chicago recently retired, but was Obamas pastor for almost 20 years.
Barack Obama said in an interview with PBS that the statements Reverend Wright made were stupid and that letting those statements dominate the conversation distracted us from the possibilities of moving beyond some of these arguments.
Many people are taking Obama’s association with Reverend Wright and statements that he made to mean that Obama feels the same way. I say look at the man’s record and what he has done in the past to help people of all races. Does it look like he feels that way?
I think that no matter how much Barack Obama does to try to push past this it has severely hurt his campaign. People can be closed minded on these matters will look no farther then they are told to look and one thing you have to look at is why this has come out now when Barack Obama was making such a big leeway? That’s something to think about.
That’s the news about that. I hope the news about you is good news.

The News About St. Patrick’s Day
Well, today is St. Patrick’s Day time for the wearing of the green. As you know there will be lots of parades and lots of drinking. One of the biggest celebrations in the US for St. Paddy’s Day is Chicago where they party all weekend long and actually turn the Chicago River green. Although the ingredients of the dye used to turn the river green is kept a secret, it is claimed to have passed tests from independent chemists and is safe for the environment.
Over a million people all dressed in green showed up Broadway yesterday for its St. Patrick’s Day Parade. With all those people in one place the event still turned out to be a peaceful one.
I want to wish everyone a Happy St. Patrick’s Day. Don’t drink to much and if you do don’t drink and Drive. Now on to Easter.

The News About Mary Ann Smoking Pot
Remember Mary Ann, the cute little farm girl from Gilligan’s Island? Well, it seems like Mary Ann was caught with Mary Jane. No, I don’t mean she was caught in some lesbian trisk, not that there’s anything wrong with that. I mean she was caught with marijuana.
Dawn Well,s who played Mary Ann on Gilligan’s Island, was caught with the marijuana in her car in October in Idaho. She was arrested and sentenced to six months of unsupervised probation, five days in jail and fined $410.50. The sentence comes as part of a plea bargain. Counts of driving under the influence, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a controlled substance were dropped. Wells plead guilty to one count of reckless driving.
When originally questioned at the scene, Wells said that she had picked up three hitchhikers, but dropped them back off after they started smoking marijuana.
Well, it looks like innocent little Mary Ann isn’t so innocent anymore.

The News About The Thrill Killer Dies
Richard Biegenwald, better known as “The Thrill Killer”, died yesterday at the age of 67 in the New Jersey State Prison. Biegenwald was sentence to four life sentences without the possibility of parole in 1983.
Richard Biegenwald’s troubled life started early. His alcoholic father frequently beat him when he was as a child and at the age of five he tried to burn down the family home. He was sent to a Rockland County Psychiatric Center for observation. By the time he was eight Biegenwald was drinking and gambling.
The Thrill Killer did his first kill at the age of 18 while robbing a Bayonne store killing the owner, Stephen Sladowski. He was caught, sentence and paroled in 1975.
After spending severals in and out of jail and getting married, Biegenwald was convicted of killing three teenage girls and a drug dealer in 1981 and 1982. The bodies of two of his victims were found dismembered and buried together in a shallow grave in the yard of his mother’s home on Staten Island.
On January 4, 1983, Richard Biegenwald shot and killed 18-year-old Anna Olesiewicz, whom he lured from the Asbury Park Boardwalk with the promise of marijuana. He was sentenced to death twice for the killing, but the State Supreme Court overturned the sentence both times.
Richard Biegenwald, “The Thrill Killer”, is dead, but it wasn’t soon enough or harsh enough as far as I’m concerned.

The News About Casey Knowles’ Support Of Barack Obama
You may be asking, “Who the hell is Casey Knowles?” Well, last week before the Texas primary, Hilary Clinton’s campaign run an advert the featured an 8-year-old Casey Knowles sleeping. The ad, which was originally shot for a railroad company was bought by the Clinton camp and then used to portray Barack Obama’s lack of experience in foreign policy matters.
Well, Casey Knowles is now 18-years-old and is a staunch Obama supporter and has even been campaigning for him. This is what Casey Knowles had to say about the Clinton ad, “What I don’t like about the ad is its fear-mongering,” she said. “I think it’s a cheap hit to take. I really prefer Obama’s message of looking forward to a bright future.”
Ms Knowles, support of Obama could do some damage to the Clinton campaign. Maybe Hilary Clinton should make sure she’s using a Clinton supporter in her next ad.

The News About Heath Ledger, The Joker And Warner Bros
Warner Bros is in a bit of a pickle as to how to promote the upcoming Batman movie, “The Dark Knight”. Early promotion plans had Heath Ledger, as The Joker, planned for posters, billboards, bus stops and other promotional items.
But since the death of Heath Ledger, Warmer Bros has since started rethinking those promotional plans fearing that it may seem as though they were trying to cash in on Ledger’s death. They are opting instead to use the star of “The Dark Knight” Christian Bale more in the promotions.
I think it would be a mistake not to use Heath Ledger in the promotions. I believe people want to see The Joker and how Heath will portray him I know I do. I don’t see as cashing in or morbid at all. This movie is going to make big money with or without the Heath Ledger promotions, but I say give the people what they want.

The News About Patrick Swayze With Pancreatic Cancer
Patrick Swayze, who became a big star and a household name after starring in the big hit movie “Dirty Dancing” has been diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer. Some early reports said Swayze had five weeks to live, but his doctor has since denied those reports and says “Patrick has a very limited amount of disease and he appears to be responding well to treatment thus far”.
Patrick Swayze, who also starred in the mega “Ghost” with Demi Moore and Whoopi Goldberg and the movie “Roadhouse”, shot a pilot last December for the cable channel, “A&E” titled “The Beast”. In it Swayze plays an unorthodox FBI agent. “The Beast” is being considered to be turned into a series. Patrick Swayze, who is 55, is reportedly not working on any other projects.

The News About Obama And Clinton Claims Of Misdoings In Ohio And Texas
Yesterday my home state of Ohio and Texas had their primary elections and caucuses. In both states one or the other of the two Democratic candidates, Obama and Clinton, had complaints about the voting system.
In Ohio Barack Obama successfully filed a court complaint asking that some polling places be kept open late because of ballot shortages. In Texas Hilary Clinton may mount a legal challenge to the state's caucus results. Texas has a two-step election, a primary and a caucus. Clinton won the primary, but it looks like Obama has won the caucus. Clinton is claiming that Obama supporters illegally obtained caucus packets in several precincts throughout the state.
It’s all very confusing and a Clinton supporter even introduced a resolution to abolish the caucus system. Maybe the system should be abolished, but to abolish it in the middle of an election would be unfair.
That’s the news about that. I hope the news about you is good news.

The News About Airborne Refunds
Well, it looks like Airborne, the herbal formula that’s supposed to cure the common cold doesn’t work as advertised. As a result if you purchased Airborne from May 2001 through November 2007 and you kept your receipts you are entitled to a refund.
Airborne settled a class-action lawsuit for $23.3 million, which requires them to pay for false advertising. You have until Sept. 15, 2008 to submit a claim for your refund. Airborne agreed to settle the suit even though they deny any wrongdoing or illegal conduct.
Airborne was made by a former second grade schoolteacher who should have known better than to make false claims. Apparently the claims were made with no data to back them up.
My question is, is Airborne really going to have to pay much of this lawsuit? I mean how many people do you think saved their receipt for some over the counter dietary supplement, which is what Airborne is classified as?
That’s the news about that. I hope the news about you is good news.
